Re: Matt Moll

It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Matt Moll as he pursues his career goal of becoming a building level administrator. I have known Matt for many years but recently had the privilege of serving as his off-level supervisor during his admin internship. Matt is my 4th off-level intern, and he is by far the most committed and enthusiastic off-level intern with whom Ive worked. Coming from a secondary background, it can be a challenge to walk into an elementary building and assume a leadership position. Matt handled this challenge with grace and poise. He quickly learned our structure, culture, and curriculum and together we identified learning needs that he could tackle. Matts first project was to put together a new student orientation packet. He did a great job of putting together developmentally appropriate activities. We have a very transient student population and these tools he created help us better orient new students to our school and the behavioral and academic expectations in which we operate. During Matts internship, it became quite evident to me that he is adept at collecting, analyzing, and using data to make sound decisions as they relate to student achievement. The information Matt collected was extremely relevant and helpful in helping us analyze our effectiveness with our current behavior RTI process at Northwood. By collecting and organizing this data, it helped give us a clearer picture on the areas in which we needed to focus. I think what I enjoyed most about having Matt as an intern was the chance to talk with him about professional and educational issues. He truly is a leader who gets it. He stays current with the latest researc h and educational trends and pedagogy. He can see the big picture and understands what it takes to get there. Matt did an excellent job during his offlevel internship at Northwood Elementary. The opportunity provided him a chance to stretch and grow as a building level administrator at the elementary level. The projects Matt initiated and implemented have definitely made us a better school. Matt will be an exceptional leader at any level. Hes the definitely the guy you want on your team!
