Objectives : To develop safety consciousness among employees build up favorable attitude in them towards safety measures and precautions To ensure safety of the employees at every level.

Evaluation Of Safety Programmes


Organic methods : These methods seek the answer of following questions : Have accident producing physical conditions been corrected? Have regulatory provisions relating to safety been complied with? Is the programme effective in changing unsafe behavior? Have safety attitudes been changed?

2.Safety Inspection: Safety inspectors or Safety committee been constituted.


After inspection the inspectors submit his report to appropriate authority. Safety inspections is carried on regular intervals.

3. Safety Audit : Audit is defined as the verification of accounting records for determining the accuracy and reliability of accounting statements and reports. Safety audit is the systematic examination and evaluation of effectiveness of various safety measures it is concerned with assessment of whether the safety measures are in accordance with requirement.

Safety audit is comparable to safety inspection but differs in terms of intensity, coverage and person involved. Safety audit is more intensive and covers in- depth analysis of various physical facilities, management and employee attitude towards safety, effectiveness in maintaining safety and quality of safety planning and conformity of operation with safety regulation.

4. Comparison : This method evaluates the

effectiveness of the safety programme by comparing it and its outcome against the safety benchmark . Benchmark as a standard for comparison provides information for devising the best possible safety measures.
