This week we have been learning how reading is thinking. When a reader reads, s/he uses three cuing systems: visual, meaning, and structural. To help your child when s/he comes to a word s/he cant read, you can ask them these questions and in this order: What make sense? What sounds right? What looks right (sound it out)?
