Language Arts
We are nishing up our unit on multiplication and will then go back to measurement. This time, we will be working on volume and capacity.
Our writing focus for this unit is procedural writing. Procedural writing is typically used to explain how something works or to explain how to do a particular activity (recipes, instructions for playing games, etc.). This writing genre lends itself well to our new unit and the science experiments we plan to do as well. The language features are: sequencing events in chronological order (use of words: rst, next, then, nally, etc.), present tense and conjunctions. ! ! !
