TSW successfully complete spelling/vocabulary quiz 1 Activities/Assignments Monday: I do: Explain how author info can aid in understanding text We do: Review symbols through Sunrise Activity: On the back of your previous Sunrise Activity, explain what a symbol is and list 10 examples of symbols. You do: Independently Read Meet the Writer on page 26 of lit book. Use this information to determine Robert Frosts intended symbol. Closure: Review Classroom Expectations/Procedures Tuesday: I do: Administer Practice Listening/Following Directions Quiz, Model Writing Strategies to Use When Dont Know Anything About the Prompt or Mind Goes Blank (Just Start, Break it Up, Pull Out the Important Bits, Restating the Prompt and Writing What Know, Make It Up) We do: Discuss Pros/Cons to Each Strategy You do: Practice Strategies with writing prompt: Imagine you are a famous person from history. Choose one event from their life and write about it from the point of view of your historical famous person. Closure: Write HW in Agenda (All Periods: Use Dictionary to Lookup a Definition for each of our 10 Spelling/Vocabulary 1 Words. Use the definitions to write and illustrate 10 sentences.) (Period 2 Only: page Describe 3 best friends as candy. Wednesday: I do: Administer Lexile Test We do: Use Correct Classroom and Lab Behavior You do: Take Lexile Test Closure: Write Homework in Agenda (1 page on the prompt: Write about how disappointments can be good or helpful.) Thursday: I do: Review Spelling/Vocabulary/Explain How to Study for Quiz We do: Sunrise Activity: Describe What You See.-Monkey Picture/Review and Correct Spelling/Vocabulary Worksheets You do: Complete 2 Spelling/Vocabulary Worksheets Closure: Write Homework (Study for Spelling/Vocabulary Quiz-know the words-wont be given, know how to spell, know definition/how to use)
