whnau, Wow thank you Leena for all your help this morning. I was helping Teacher Bushra with the washing when you arrived and came and asked What you doing, quickly followed by, can I help teacher? I replied that laundry is not as fun as playing with your friends and youre free to join them. However you insisted, I help teacher, like I help Mum. I help Mum at home. I showed you how to take the pegs off and pass me the laundry to fold. However after observing me you decided you wanted to fold. Shortly Amal came to join you, but found folding too difficult so you tried to show her how to do it tidily. Like this, make square, then another square! you explained excited to help her. Recognizing the learning Leena I was so impressed with you this morning, although you choose to do a mundane chore. Firstly, you showed me how you have developed a great deal of responsibility for your environment, peers and elders. Your also very confident, able to express yourself with clarity and precision. You are also able to set your own goals and see them through, you had decided you were going to help with washing and even when different friends came to see you, you did not allow that to distract you. This means you can manage impulsivity, an excellent disposition to have. I noticed your perseverance when folding the laundry. At first it did not look like mine, but you kept modifying your technique until you had mastered it. This was when you were able to show your friend Amal how to do it. Where to next?

Leena I would like to introduce you to more activities that will further develop your sense of global responsibility. This term we are going to start a reading focus especially within the school readiness sessions, your determination, ability to manage impulsivity and natural tendency to strive for accuracy tells me your ready to join in!
