Organized, hardworking multimedia journalist skilled in print and online writing, editing, social media and photography. Basic and audio and video skills. My passion for copy editing, accuracy and completing stories on tight deadlines, as well as my excellent research and leadership skills will be an asset to any organization and allow me to provide high-quality news. I am a Kings College School of Journalism graduate.

Journalism Experience:
The Casket Newspaper Multimedia reporter for Antigonishs The Casket newspaper (September 2013 - present). Brunswick News Inc. General reporter for Monctons Times & Transcript paper (May - August 2013) and handled 16 weeks of zoo spotlight features in the Friday Metro section. Globe and Mail, the Editorial intern (April 2013). Job duties included reporting for Toronto city desk, working as part of the team that covered the Boston Marathon bombings, web editing, monitoring the wire service and publishing. Brunswick News Inc. Freelance reporter (April 2012 - present) for the Daily Gleaner, Riverside Neighbours and the Oromocto Post Gazette. I have taken assignments, pitched original ideas and completed stories on weekly deadlines on top of a full-time summer job and full-time studies. Covered a range of local news stories, from features to sporting events and arts pieces. Optio Publishing Copy writer (September 2012 - present) for dental professionals and their websites. Freelance Journalism Work Freelance reporting for several publications, including Tidings Magazine, Halifax Magazine, Student Health 101, the Thompson Citizen and the Halifax Chronicle Herald. I have experience covering small town events and larger city issues. University of Calgary Centre for Military and Strategic Studies, May 2012 Completion of the Canadian Military Journalism Course scholarship. Course included classroom work on media-military relations and embedding agreements followed by four days on CFB Wainwright observing and interacting with military personnel.

Editorial Intern at Metro Guide Publishing Intern for Halifax Magazine and East Coast Living Magazine during May 2012. Duties included copy editing, fact checking and completing eight stories for publication in summer, fall and winter editions. My stories ranged from small news pieces and features to an in-depth look at a scientific award and business. Communication Skills:
Kings Landing Historical Settlement Interpreting 19th century New Brunswick life to visitors at this tourist attraction (summer job: 2008 through 2012). Job description included taking part in reenactments, dressing in period costume and speaking with visitors. I have given tours to seniors and worked with summer camp programs and childrens tours. Holocaust Case Study Blog In May 2011, I participated in a Holocaust case study in Germany and Poland. I blogged throughout my trip and upon returning home: www.pilgrimagetopoland.blogspot.com City of Fredericton Aquatics Department Lifeguard (June - September 2008). I educated the public on water safety and skills and performed first aid when necessary. I was also the Grad Class Secretary for Fredericton High in 2009, and am confident speaking to all groups of people, as well as at events of all sizes.

Education:
University of Kings College, 2013 Combined Honours in Journalism and Canadian Studies. Completed my Canadian Studies thesis in 2012 on the M.S. St. Louis and public history. My Journalism Honours project focused on the ethics of travel writing. I have completed a six-week workshop in producing a weekly newspaper and have contributed to both Dalhousie and Kings student papers. I am now working for six-weeks with online news before completing an investigative journalism workshop. I will finish my year with a four-week internship at the Globe and Mail in Toronto. Fredericton High School, 2009 New Brunswick High School Diploma recipient with honours, awards and scholarships.
