Meteorological forecast estimates summer with less rain, less cyclones and
probable risks of flood due to the effects of La Nina.

The last seasonal outlook of Vacoas meteorological centre, estimating a

deficit in the percentage of rain, raises concern about the country’s capacity to
supply water during the summer season.

Concern about this insufficiency is starting to be felt at the Central Water

Authority; Mr Harry Boolauck, General Director of the CWA declares:

GRAB

“We feel deeply concerned but we have previously known this situation. If
there is the need to, we will be compelled to progressively reduce the volume
of water distribution.”

END GRAB

However, even though this mood of anxiety persists yet observations

indicates that the effect of La Nina remains far less alarming than that in the
year 1999.
