Five Ridiculous Fears

Everyone has their own set of unreasonable fears or phobias, even if they claim that they dont. Some get jumpy at the thought of monsters under their bed or ghosts in their closets, while others are scared of much humbler things like swimming, heights, dog bites. Our point is that even though most people might not be afraid of the dark or the spiders, there might still be things that send chills down your spine. They just might not be fears that anyone would anticipate. Heres our list of five absurd phobias:

5. Fear of Work: Ergophobia Even though you cant use it as an excuse to get out of work every now and then, ergophobia, the fear of work can be pretty debilitating and persistent. It is characterized by anxiety about having to actually enter a workplace environment, fear of speaking in front of groups, and fear of socializing with co-workers.

4. Fear of Vegetables: Lachanophobia Remember those excuses you used to make as a kid to avoid eating vegetables? Well, he res a scientifically valid one: Lachanophobia . Its a universal fact that no one essentially likes vegetables, but imagine being terrified of peas and broccoli! 3. Fear Of Long Words: Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia The person who coined the term Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia is unquestionably fond of cruel irony. Its not hard to deduce that this fifteen syllable word was made up just for the sake of satire. 2. Fear Of Crossing The Street: Agyrophobia / Dromophobia Every time people with Agyrophobia try to cross the street, they literally have to stop dead in their tracks. Interestingly enough, this phobia has nothing to do with being frightened of heavy traffic or getting run over by a vehicle. 1. Fear Of Peanut Butter Sticking To The Roof Of Your Mouth: Arachibutyrophobia.
We know whats going on in your mind, but no, were not making this up. This is a very rare yet legitimate phobia. People suffering from this condition are paranoid about eating peanut butter sandwiches just because they are scared of the butter sticking to the roof of their mouth. Keep in mind that Arachibutyrophobia doesnt include the fear of choking on the sandwich or the fear life-threatening allergy to peanut butter.
