Plastic (PET) Beer Kit Equipment List

BRKIT2 includes the following items listed below. BRKIT3, 4, & 5 include these items, as well as additional items listed on the reverse side of this sheet. * Please Note: Products pictured may vary.
1. Home Beermaking Book: A good first book on making beer at home. 2. Plastic Carboy: Where your beer will actually ferment. 3. Bottling Bucket: Used as your bottling bucket after fermentation is over. Can also be filled with sanitizer and used to sanitize equipment on Brew Day. Note: Bucket does not come with a lid. 4. Mesh Hop & Grains Bags: Grain Bag Use this bag to contain grains during the steeping process. Note: not all recipes contain steeping grains. Hop Bags Place hops in this bag prior to inserting into boil. Can be used for multiple hop additions, just open bag and add next addition. 5. Thermometer: Monitor temperatures throughout the process as needed. 6. Plastic Spoon: Used to stir liquid malt extract into solution. 7. Funnel: Placed into opening of plastic carboy when pouring in cooled wort from your boil kettle. 8. Rubber Stopper With Hole: Inserted into the opening on top of carboy. 9. Airlock: Insert into the rubber stopper. Fill half way with water. Lets CO2 blow off and keeps contamination from entering fermenter. 10. Sterile Siphon Starter: MoreBeer!s unique way to transfer (rack) fermented beer from the plastic carboy to the bottling bucket. You will insert and attach to plastic carboy, then blow into white filter to start siphon flowing. 11. Sample Taker: Used to remove wort for hydrometer readings. 12. Hydrometer: Measures the amount of sugar in solution. Used before and after fermentation. 13. Hydrometer Jar: Used to hold a sample of your beer. Fill with beer then insert hydrometer and take reading. 14. PBW: A non-caustic cleaner used to remove organic matter from inside your plastic carboy. Best left to soak overnight. 15. StarSan: A foaming sanitizer used to kill any bacteria or wild yeast on the surface of your equipment. 16. 5 Feet of Tubing: Used during the bottling process. Connect one end to bottling bucket spigot and the other end to the bottle filler. 17. Bottle Filler: Plastic tube with a spring on the end. Gets connected to bottling bucket with included 5 of tubing. Push down into a bottle and beer flows out. Lift bottle filler up and flow stops. 18. Beer Bottle Brush: Used to clean out empty beer bottles before bottling. 19. Bottle Capper: Attaches new bottle caps to recappable (non-twist off) beer bottles. 20. Bottles Caps: Used with bottle capper to cap filled beer bottles. 21. Fermometer: Liquid crystal thermometer which adheres to the side of your carboy to tell you the fermentation temperature. 3678 F range.
