4th Grade Dream Team

Acuity: This week students took the Acuity test for reading and math. Scores will be coming home soon. This test is composed of 75% third-grade material and 25% fourth-grade material. Students who are struggling may need some extra skills practice. I will use the data from these tests to recommend students for tutoring. I hope to have the data to you by next Friday, September 20, along with their grade checks. Grandparents Day When: September 16th 9:00-9:50 Grandparents Day is Monday! I hope we have a fantastic turn -out. The kids are so excited and have been working hard on their letters and artwork. Reading Logs Reading logs will be checked on Monday. Please make sure that you look over the log with your child and sign to show he/she read the 80+ minutes aloud for the week. Example: This week Ive been reading Upchuck and the Rotten Willy. I predict that now that Tom has moved away Chuck will become friends with Rotten Willy. I predict this because Chuck feels very lonely now, and hes starting to think Willy isnt so bad after all. This should be a reflection of the students thoughts as he/she was reading, not just a copy word for word of what they read. This will be used for a weekly grade, and must be turned in on Mondays with the Reading Log. Box Tops We are collecting Box Tops for Education. If you have any, please send them in. :)
