Music Video Channels

This channel showcases quite a few specific genres on their music channels such as rap, pop, hip hop and RnB. MTV have different channels that they can show more specified music videos and genres which provides easy access to the type of music you want to listen to.

Whilst playlists are not genre specific, the schedule has come to include music orientated original programming as well as music videos. The Box shows genres such as pop, urban and indie music and showcases established artists and features some of the new acts on the music scene.

The radio has a number of specialist programs dedicated to the many subgenres of rock music. Kerrang is a music channel which is dedicated to the mainstream side of rock music. In 2001 EMAP launched Kerrang! TV. The channel covers artists such as classic rock bands like Aerosmith and AC/DC, and classic heavy metal bands such as Guns N' Roses and Metallica. Kerrang TV is now a joint venture between Bauer Media Group and Channel 4.

Scuzz is a British music television channel owned and operated by CSC Media Group (formerly Chart Show Channels). It launched on 17 April 2003 and has gone on to be the highest-rated rock TV station on UK satellite. The channel plays a broad range of rock and all its subgenres. The daytime tends to play more pop-punk, current metal and up and coming artists while the evening plays predominately heavier music ranging from traditional heavy metal, hard rock and punk to deathcore and death metal which no other music channel currently plays.

Kiss specialises in hip hop, R&B, urban and electronic dance music. It also broadcasts on DAB Digital Radio around the UK & nationally on Freeview, Sky and TalkTalk TV. Kiss FM began in October 1985 as a pirate radio station, broadcasting first to South London then across the whole city, on 94FM. The station had gained a large audience by the time it was awarded a legitimate licence in 1990.
