MASSILLON OHIO - FOOTBALL FIELD - EVENING

SFX CROWD ROARING A statue stands with an image of a football player holding a football. People are walking around clapping and jumping. A line forms around the concession stand as a worker hands out hot dogs. WORKER Who you got tonight? Go TIGERS! SFX PEOPLE CHEERING. FAVORING THE COSTUMER The customer turns and starts giving high fives to others in line. EXT. MASSILLON OHIO - EVENING Signs of the Massillon Tigers are shown. A team picture background with trophies lined up in a glass case is shown. SFX HELMETS CRACKING Back to the glass case where the years 2000 - 2012 state champions is shown. INT. MASSILLON HOSPITAL - MORNING CUSTOMER

BABY CRYING

BETH 28, diaphoretic and blushed lays back in the bed crying holding a baby. A NURSE 23, tall and cute stands by with a clipboard.

2. NURSE Wow, what a cute baby. Do you have a name picked out?

Beth staring at the baby begins to cry. BETH His name will be. She is cut off by the room door opening. WIDER ON HOSPITAL ROOM A MAN comes running in the room. His eyes are wide open, sweat is pouring down his face. He has a smile on his face. It is COACH SMITH 62. A grey-haired once tall slightly chubby guy. He rushes to Beth. COACH SMITH What is it? What is it? Um, Boy or girl? FAVORING BETH Beth covers the baby. BETH Coach it is a. The coach spins and jumps. COACH SMITH Come on tell me. SAM 31, tall and slim with a muscular build. Stands beside the bed smiling. COACH SMITH (CONTD) Sam, what is it tell me? Sam puts his head down with a sad face. He then lifts his head smiling.

SAM Coach, it is a boy. The coach jumps up and down and runs to Sams side of the bed. Coach and Sam spin in circles. The coach then stops and looks at the baby boy.

3. COACH SMITH I have something for my little quarterback. The coach reaches in his aged Tigers letter jacket. He pulls out a miniature football.

FAVORING COACH AND BABY. COACH SMITH What is his name? BETH His name is going to be RIG. COACH SMITH Rig this is for you. Coach places the miniature football in the tiny arms of baby Rig. EXT. MASSILLON OHIO - FOOTBALL FIELD - EVENING FIFTEEN YEARS LATER The crowd stands cheering. The Tigers football team is on the field. The Tigers are in white and orange. The opposing team is in all green. FAVORING SCOREBOARD The score is TIGERS 14 VISITORS 21 BACK ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD Coach Smith stands on the sideline pacing as the quarterback hikes the ball. EFX HUT HUT

The opposing team in green rushes the quarterback chasing him. The quarterback runs from the chasing lineman. As the quarterback runs backwards, one of the guys hit the quarterback knocking him in the air. WIDER ON CROWD The crowd goes silent. The play ends, and the quarterback remains on the ground. The trainers rush to his side. The crowd stands watching.

4. CLOSER ON THE QUARTERBACK Coach Smith rushes out to the field. The trainers wave for the standby EMTs to bring the stretcher. The quarterback is loaded on the stretcher and taken off the field. FAVORING COACH SMITH Coach Smith walks toward the sidelines with his head down. He paces a few times past a scrawny player sitting on the bench. He stops in front of the player. He makes eye contact. FIRST PERSON VIEW THE PLAYER COACH SMITH RIG your in!
