The Honorable David R. Obey, Chairman

The Honorable Jerry Lewis, Ranking Member
Committee on Appropriations
H-218, The Capitol
Washington , D.C. 20515

Dear Chairman Obey and Ranking Member Lewis:

I am requesting funding for Lap Top Computers for Patrol Vehicles in fiscal year 2010.

The entity to receive funding for this project is:

Borough of Leonia
1 Wood Park
Leonia , NJ 07605

The funding would be used for Laptop computers, which will be placed in the police vehicles
and will enhance the Department's ability to identify and apprehend persons on the terrorism
watchlist, persons with outstanding warrants, stolen motor vehicles, unregistered/uninsured
vehicles, suspended drivers and enhance law enforcement ability. The laptop computers will
enable patrol officers to communicate with their station, other officers and other departments
as well as negate an officer's need to be in the station to complete reports thus allowing for a
more continuous and visible police presence.

I certify that neither I nor my spouse has any financial interest in this project.

Sincerely,

Steven R. Rothman
Member of Congress
