The Honorable David R. Obey, Chairman

The Honorable Jerry Lewis, Ranking Member
Committee on Appropriations
H-218, The Capitol
Washington, D.C. 20515

Dear Chairman Obey and Ranking Member Lewis:

I am requesting funding for State and Local Prosecutor Training Program at the National
Advocacy Center in fiscal year 2010.

The entity to receive funding for this project is:

National District Attorneys Association (NOAA)
44 Canal Central Plaza
Suite 110
Alexandria, VA 22314

The funding would be used for a joint venture of the National District Attorneys Association and
the U.S. Department of Justice to provide prosecutors across all levels with the training
needed to most effectively perform their duties. When fully funded, the NOAA can conduct 40
courses at the NAC annually and train 3,000 state and local prosecutors.

I certify that neither I nor my spouse has any financial interest in this project.

Sincerely,

Steven R. Rothman
Member of Congress
