LAB

TASK: To compete in a 30 minute Soccer Game AIM:To Record Data (Heart Rate & Work rate, Breathing) in respect to energy
systems and the processes of Fatigue and Recovery.

METHOD:
- 3 Students will be equipped with a Heart rate Monitor. - 3 students will be allocated a subject each to record the subjects resting heart rate, and at 3 minute intervals during a soccer game and at the end of the warm down. The recorders will switch with another 3 students at half time to have an opportunity to participate in the soccer game. - They will undertake a 5 to 10 minute warm up at a sub-maximal intensity (75%) - Students are separated into 2 teams and allocated positions. - There will be a strong emphasis on the comparison between the different positions played (ie Striker, midfielder, goalkeeper and defender) - After the match the students will undertake 5 to 10 minute warm down.

RESULTS DATA COLLECTION PLAYER POSITION: __________________

Note: The participant should make observations about how they were feeling during and after each activity such as out of breath, heavy in the legs, muscle tightness/soreness, etc. Depth of breathing should be observed and recorded as shallow (S), moderate (M), heavy (H) or very heavy (VH).
