Unit 4 The Fat Ginger Cat

1. Who were the mice afraid of? Answer: The mice were afraid of the Fat Ginger Cat. 2. Why were they afraid? Answer: They were afraid because Ginger would catch and eat them. 3. Why did they want to go to the kitchen? Answer: They wanted to go to the kitchen so that they could eat cake crumbs and cheesy biscuits. 4. Why did Ginger not see the hot air balloons? Answer: Ginger did not see the hot air balloons because he was fast asleep, snoring in the warm sun. 5. What idea did the brown mouse have? Answer: The brown mouse had the idea of frightening the cat with a huge balloon in the shape of a mouse. 6. Who helped the brown mouse? How? Answer: Six strong mice helped the brown mouse. They bought a huge balloon and a ball of string. They filled the balloon with air. It looked like a giant mouse. 7. What did Ginger do when he saw the balloon? Answer: Ginger got such a fright when he saw the balloon that he jumped up with all four paws in the air. 8. What did Ginger promise never to do again? Answer: Ginger promised never to chase mice again as long as he lived.

Sometimes we can work together to do things that we cannot do alone. Why is that so? Answer: Free response. Possible Answer: Sometimes when we work w together, we can do things faster because there are many people to help. We can use everyones strength as well well as their ideas to get what we want.
