About the scholarship:

Jason Vest, a Kennard-Dale graduate ( 01) and varsity cross country and track participant, had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge that made him an unwavering advocate for education. Jason passed away on June 15, 2013, a er a year-long battle with sarcoma. As a testament to Jasons passion for learning, generosity and volunteerism the Jason Vest Memorial Scholarship fund has been created. In its inaugural year, the Jason Vest Memorial Scholarship, held by the York County Community Foundation and ltered through the Dollars for Scholars program, is working hard to raise the funds necessary to award the rst scholarship recipient in 2014. A minimum of $25,000 is needed to start the scholarship, which will award at least $500 to a student each year. e scholarship will become everlasting, a er the start-up minimum is met.
