I am delighted to advise that, because of your exceptional academic achievement, you have been chosen
to receive a Jason Lang Scholarship valued at $1,000. This scholarship recognizes and rewards the
trernendoastimoand effort you have-grven to your studies-It aeknowledges yout o-Dffianding -accomplishments and encourages your continued education. As the Deputy Premier and Minister of
Enterprise and Advanced Education, I am honoured to present this scholarship to you and to extend my
warmest congratulations.

You may be interested to know that this scholarship was named in memory of Jason Lang, a l7-year-old
high school student who was killed in a tragic school shooting in April 1999. The scholarship was
established in 2000 by the Alberta government as part of Enterprise and Advanced Education's
Achievement Scholarship Program. The Government of Alberta also encourages and rewards student
excellence through the Alberta Heritage Scholarship Fund. This year, over $71 million in Alberta
scholarships will be awarded to students like you.
