Students must know what they are singing about. If the song is not in English, it is important to make a translation available to the students to they can find ways to connect with it. I think class discussions on song meaning are extremely valuable. A song may mean one thing to you as an educator, but it may mean something completely different to your students. Its important to let them help decide how to interpret the song. Once they figure that out, they must have the appropriate facial expressions to go along with the text.
