slight rise to 21 million tons in 1960, the amount of pork experienced a dramatic climb by over 3 times to 70 million tons in 1990. The production Beef/Buffalo, on the other hand, witnessed a 2time increase to 40 in 1970 and then slowed down, reaching 50 million tons at the end of the period. As for poultry, its production steadily went up by 8 times to 40 million tons in 1990. Interestingly, there was a levelling out in the amount of sheep/goats meat produced during the whole period at about 5 million tons.
