Certified organisations have found that the certification has helped them to develop new markets for their products and services, retain existing clients and win more business in the long term. Our proposal covers the certification requirements that will allow you to use the widely recognised FSC logo to label and promote your organisation as FSC certified. Our quotation covers certification to the above standard on the basis that there is one centrally controlled management system across all sites. Scope of Assessment The provisional scope of your application for chain of custody certification is trading of woodworking products Initial Assessment Once your system is developed, implemented and running our auditor will come to site(s) to audit your system against the requirements in the Standard. Once this is complete the Auditor will make a recommendation for certification, which is reviewed at Head Office. On confirmation that your system meets all the requirements of the Standard we will issue you with your Certificate of Registration. Surveillance Visits and Re-Certification Surveillance visits to ensure continuing compliance will commence typically 6 months following Initial Assessment. The normal duration of the certificate before re-assessment is five years from the Initial Assessment visit. Re-certification in year five will require extra audit effort and reporting. Additional Audit Visits If any non-conformances are detected during the initial assessment or subsequent surveillance visits which require a re-visit, our time for this will be charged at the prevailing daily rate plus expenses. Any changes in the system, process or scope of the business may also necessitate a review of costs. Clients are required to notify BM TRADA of any such changes.

Gap Analysis You may wish to consider a gap analysis or scoping visit by our auditor as an option. This is a valuable exercise and may avoid unnecessary delays in the awarding of your Chain of Custody certificate. The gap analysis visit is effectively a dry run to identify any gaps that might subsequently prevent or hold up certification. The cost of the Gap Analysis, including reporting is $ 1,000 + VAT. Continuing Registration The annual calendar year subscription fee is payable on completion of the initial assessment process. During the year of registration this fee is halved if registration occurs after the end of June. Expenses and travel outside will be applicable and will be charged at cost. This quotation is valid for six months from the date of issue. Please note: The fees quoted above are exclusive of VAT. This quotation is valid for 6 months from the day of issue. FSC Accreditation Administration Fee Registration to the FSC scheme is also liable to the annual FSC Accreditation Administration Fee, which is collected by BM TRADA on behalf of FSC. The fee for Year 1 will be collected after Initial Assessment. Subsequent years will be invoiced at the same time as the Annual Subscription. FSC Certification Trademark License Agreement In order to proceed with FSC Certification, all applicant organisations must sign and return the Licence Agreement for the FSC Certification Scheme, a copy of which is enclosed. We cannot proceed with your certification until we receive the signed original, which we will then forward to FSC. We will confirm receipt of the Acceptance Form and will allocate an appropriately qualified auditor. We will contact you to arrange a mutually convenient date for the audit. An invoice for the Initial Assessment will be raised and sent to you.
