March 2013

It was a sunny morning of December, 14th day. I was able to go home in Cagayan de Oro City. I went home and just planned to wait for the transportation on December 17th. I was able to wait beside the highway my companions are going to pass. I waited there for 4 hours. I was just very excited. I expected them to come at my estimated time. So after those waiting hours, they came. Our Assigned Jeepney as numbered 4. Before they came I really worried they might not stop by to let me ride. Haha. Furthermore, we were able to step onto Bukidnon province by 5pm after a 4hour travel.

It was my very first time in Bukidnon so I never really slept on the way. I was amazed there still those saved environment in the Philippines. Youll feel the cool breeze while youre coming and travelling around Bukidnon. So nice. Since it was a first time, we went through every agricultural institution in there. We entered an area wherein there were vermicasting, rice field, and many others. We did not went down to walk. Instead, we just rode the Jeepney because the area was so big to just walk. We roam around with really fresh air. After a few minutes, we headed straight to Central Mindanao University in Maramag, Bukidnon. Oh my God, I was amazed again! Their school was so big! With such a big swimming pool, super wide area, very tall trees everywhere, big school buildings, of course not to forget the handsome security guards.

We were so hungry so we ate our taken out food from Jollibee. We took it out so we wont be late for the call time. There was no food in there canteen because they say their chef was not there. So after that we went to our grabbed room. We were 24 in our quarter. It was so noisy. Knowing girl talk, big mouths really. So, we made introductions, the course, hometown, age and until down to having boyfriends. After our meals, we decided to roam

around the Campus at an 11th hour. Their school was full of Christmas lights that were very alluring. And then, we went to our respective rooms and slept over.

So much for that, it is day 2 in Bukidnon. We took a bath at a very early time. We prepare ourselves so we can proceed on our tour. 1st up, we went to the one of Asias high producers of rubbers. We need not to far, it is in the University. They have a very big area for rubbers. There was a CMUan who brought as around. Then we went to the rubbery of the processing area for rubbers. They have the washing, grinding and drying. The Madam entertained questions regarding rubbers. So I was able to ask questions a lot. After that, we went to the area where there were budded rubbers for sale. They also gave us rubber seedlings for us to try to plant. Mind you, we never forget to take pictures for souvenirs. We then proceeded to the farm animals they have. These CMUans have a very big land area. Their farm animal were separated from one another. They have horses, dairy cattles, goatery, beef cattles, big buffaloes, and poultry. So amazing, I was even able to see a whiteeyed Carabao. Very nice. The caretaker said it was because the carabao has her estrus time.

Another area we went, it was in the Philippine rice. They then brought as to the area where farmers were there. They were very knowledgeable about rice planting. They also gave us planting samples for Sorghum and Adlay. They said, they were still renting from the land area of CMU. I almost cannot believe it. The CMU has a very big land. Then we went to a PCC store wherein they sell pasteurized milk of carabao and the dairy cattle. They have different delicious flavors just for an affordable price. What was sad was it is only 24hours viable. So we did not buy much.

3rd day in CMU was not much a busy day. Same routine, we took a bath, ate breakfast and then headed to the seminar hall. An agriculturist was there to conduct us a lecture. Unfortunately, we were almost impatient, they were not prepared. Their projector was a mess. Almost did not function. But after much operations, the speaker went through without the aid of the projector. I personally learned a lot. I liked the discussions. I asked questions again. I was very silly. After a half-day seminar, we went to the school lodging back. Rest for awhile and had dinner. After the dinner, we had a small program thanking everyone was behaved. Except of some of the boys who watched us naked taking a bath in the bathroom. It was fine at least they were punished by the school utility. Way back in our program, we had games too. We played on the pool and around the school for our treasure hunting. I unlucky I accidently fell and injured my knee.

All in all, I learned a lot, enjoyed much and made friends too. I dont regret I am taking up agriculture as my course. I loved it!
