Commentary: To introd!ce this lesson' , ill be dressed as a $armer as the children arrive to preschool% The classroom ill be $illed ith di$$erent types o$ $arm animals' some o$ hich ill be in a stable' coop or barn that , had created% Then a$ter all o$ the children ere in the classroom' in order to get them hoo&ed into the lesson' , ill as& the children i$ any o$ them &no hat , am dressed !p as' hat a $arm is' and hat &ind o$ animals co!ld they $ind on a $arm% As they ans er' , ill be creating a $arm on a smart board and adding the animals that they mention% This ill be the $o!ndation $or all the activities that e ill be doing $or this lesson plan d!ring

Instructional Procedures: Day -. First 15 minutes: ,ntrod!ctory activity- Children ill gather at the carpet to disc!ss hat a $arm is and hat &ind o$ animals are on a $arm% We ill disc!ss $arm animal so!nds' hat they eat' hat they live in on a $arm and animal ad!lts and animal babies% A$ter a (!ic& disc!ssion' , ill read the boo&' My% /ro n Can Moo' Can 0o!1 /y Dr% Se!ss' to the children% D!ring the boo&' Every time an animal is presented to the children' , ill as& the children to ma&e that animal so!nd then ill sho that animal on the smart board and let the children listen to the animal so!nd% 5 Minutes- We ill sing *ld McDonald had a $arm% , ill go aro!nd the circle and give each child a t!rn to say hat animal as on the $arm and hat noise that animal ma&es% Transition 2-3 Minutes. Everybody Cl!c& li&e a chic&en to the red all% 2,t ill be designed li&e a barn3 About 15 Minutes- , ill introd!ce a stable' coop' and barn to the children% , Will as& the children hat animals live in each one% The children ill then be able to go aro!nd the room and collect all o$ the st!$$ed $arm animals thro!gho!t the classroom and sort them into the stable' coop' or barn% Transition 2-3 Minutes- ,t)s time $or snac& and bathroom brea&% Everyone gallop li&e a horse to the snac& table% 10 Minutes- Snac& 20 Minutes- , ill have sensory tables $or the children to e4periment ith% *ne ill be $illed ith a mi4 o$ shaving cream and bro n paint in order to ma&e m!d% , ill p!t abo!t -5 plastic pigs in the m!d and have the children try and $ind them all% They ill need to co!nt and &eep trac& o$ ho many they $o!nd and ho many more they need to $ind% , ill also have a sensory bin ith hay in it $or the children to manip!late and play in ith plastic co s and other zoo animals% The children and , ill tal& abo!t hat &inds o$ $oods the animals eat and hat else co!ld be $o!nd on a $arm besides animals% , ill mi4 in popcorn &ernels and baby carrots to the hay% They ill have a variety o$ $arm e(!ipment to play ith at the sensory table s!ch a toy tractors and plo % Transition 2-3 minuets- Lets all tippy toes (!ietly li&e a mo!se to the smartboard% 15 Minutes- We ill then go to the carpet area to do an activity on the smart boards% We ill !se it to loo& at di$$erent animal and their babies% The children ill the proper names o$ the babies o$ each animal% The

children ill have the opport!nity to play a matching game that , have created on "oogle dra ing% The children ill ta&e t!rns !sing their $inger on the smart board to dra a line $rom the ad!lt animal to their corresponding baby animal% Transition 2-3 Minuets- Everybody snort li&e pig to the dramatic play area% 20 Minutes- ,n the dramatic play area6 , ill have children dress !p in di$$erent animal cost!mes and have a $armer cost!me available% The area ill be set !p li&e a $arm ith a barn and stable and the children ill be able to play $arm together% We ill then sing 78armer ,n The Dell9 and as an animal is said' the child dressed !p as that animal ill come into the middle o$ the circle% Transition 2-3 minutes- Everyone pretend that yo! are $ramers and al& over to the art tables% 20 Minutes- Everybody ill be earing art smoc&s% , ill have a variety o$ paint o!t and a variety o$ plastic animals% The children ill have the opport!nity to dip the animal)s $eet in the paint color o$ their choice and stamp it onto their paper in any ay they o!ld li&e% They can !se has many colors and animals as they o!ld li&e% This ill give the children the ability to loo& at the di$$erent animal $eet and learn some ne vocab!lary ords s!ch as the horse shoe% Transition 5 Minutes- /athroom brea& Last 15 Minutes- At the end o$ the day' e ill meet at the carpet area to play a game' almost as the post assessment% *n the blac& board' , have all the children)s names on a slot machine% , ill clic& it $irst and hose ever name it lands on gets to pic& an animal pict!re o!t o$ a bo l and act that animal o!t $or the class to g!ess% They ill have access to dress !p clothes' animal)s $ood' and the barn set !p% A$ter their animal as g!essed' they get to clic& the slot machine to see ho is !p ne4t% Last little bit of class- Children get ready to go home $or the day%

Pre-Assessment: *ne thing that , ill do to pre-assess the children)s &no ledge o$ the standards that my lesson addresses ill be to have a (!ic& disc!ssion and read a boo&% , ill brie$ly as& the children i$ they have ever been on a $arm and hat &ind o$ things are on a $arm% Then d!ring the story' , ill have children imitate animal so!nds% To determine hat my st!dents already &no ' , ill have the children tal& to me abo!t $arms as m!ch as possible almost as i$ they ere teaching me% corin!
