Rolling Ramps
Find a partner and make a ramp out of books, using a piece of cardboard as the ramp. Record the amount of books you used on the sheet provided. Roll an empty coffee can down the ramp. Use receipt tape to measure the distance the coffee can rolled. Make the ramp with a different amount of books to change the slope of the ramp. Roll the coffee can down the ramp and record the distance the coffee can rolled with receipt tape. Compare the length of the tape. Which ramp made the can roll the furthest? Record your results in your Math Response Journal. Make sure you use pictures, numbers and words to explain your findings.
