Read the text below and complete the following tasks.

Throughout this century, the role of women within society has changed, and the majority of people feel that this change is for the better. (1) Nonetheless, there is still a great deal of sexual discrimination against women within society, and the belief that sexual equality has been achieved is not altogether accurate. Many women need to take time off work when their children are young in order to look after them and this often means they lose their place on the career ladder. (2) With the Internet however, working from home on-line becomes a real solution, since a woman can simply move her office to the home environment and stay in constant contact with whats happening at work. Although working from home in this way requires a great deal of discipline, it does mean that women can continue to hold positions of responsibility without depriving their children of their mothers presence. (3) It also means that, working from home on-line, women do not feel the need to power dress, in other words to wear the kinds of formal clothes that will force men to take them seriously as colleagues. (4) They can simply be judged on the quality of their work alone and not on their style of dress and whether or not it conforms to the male stereotype of female appearance. 1.
