BOLO ISABELS NEW FRIEND

GRADE II

Isabels father gave her a puppy for her birthday. She named the puppy Champ. She thought he was the best puppy in the world. You must promise me one thing, Isabel, said her father. You must do your homework each day before you play with Champ. I promise, Daddy, Isabel said. But she knew it would be a hard promise to keep. One day after school, Champ heard Isabel come home. He barked and barked. He even jumped at the window in her bedroom. Isabel looked outside at her little puppy. She opened the window. Im sorry, Champ. I have too much homework. I cant come outside now, Isabel said. Champ barked and jumped some more. No, Champ. I cant come, Isabel said again. Champ sat down on the back porch. He began to cry and whimper. He got louder and louder. Stop, Champ! cried Isabel. Champ just cried and whimpered more. Just then Isabels father came into her bedroom. Whats the matter with Champ? he asked. He wants someone to play with him, Daddy, Isabel said sadly. She looked up at her father. He began to smile. Okay, Isabel. You can go outside and play with your friend. You can do your homework, after dinner. Then Champ will be asleep. Oh thank you, Daddy! cried Isabel. Then she ran outside to be with Champ. Elements of the Story Characters- Isabel, Champ and Isabels Father. Setting-Isabels House Problem-Champ cried and whimpered more because he wanted to play with Isabel. Solution: Isabels Father let her play with Champ and do her assignment after dinner. Ending- Isabel and Champ are very happy and play outside.
