I have known Ashley LaPaglia for the past year, having served as her Mathematics Education Professor.

I believe Ashley has several unique qualities that will serve your students, teachers, and staff well. Utmost of these qualities is her passion for instructional excellence. Ashley brings a wealth of life and professional experience to the teaching profession that enables her to excel in the delivery of instruction as well as classroom management. While a student at the University of North Texas, Ashley has excelled academically, while balancing her professional and volunteer responsibilities. Her strong GPA signifies her dedication to excellence in the classroom. Ashley is a meticulous student who spends time assessing the pedagogical affordances and constraints of all lesson materials she delivers to her students. Ashleys dedication to the development of quality lessons and activities is directly associated with her commitment to presenting lessons that are engaging and effective. For example, during her mathematics lesson presentation Ashley created a problem based learning activity that lead the class on an interactive mystery to solve a crime. The lesson objective was to identify and describe the proprieties of odd and even numbers. Thus, the clues in the lesson were the properties of odd and even numbers. The design and delivery of this lesson was unsurpassed in my course that semester. I continue to use her lesson plan idea as an exemplar in my class today. This is one of the qualities that will support her development as an excellent future educator and promote the engagement and achievement of your students. Ashleys passion for teaching and learning is unparalleled. Ashley is eager and dedicated to becoming a great instructor. Also, Ashley would become an essential asset to your school as a future instructional leader and exceptional child educator for many years to come.
