To the Director of Human Resources, I am writing this letter on behalf of Crystal Ellis, an exceptional teacher educator and counselor whom I have had the privilege of working with over the past several years. I first met Crystal when hiring her for an elementary teaching position where I was principal. Crystal taught in the North Clackamas School district as an elementary teacher and became an elementary school Counselor and Behavioral Specialist. She has experience within North Clackamas and her previous school experiences at grades k-6 and is a versatile and valuable team member. Crystal has a natural talent in teaching and working with students. She has a strong grasp on curriculum using the state and national standards along with the districts curriculum and is experienced in using small group and whole group instruction. In addition to these, Crystal has experience with multiple reading intervention curricula and assessments that inform her instruction. Classroom management is a strong point for Crystal. She develops relationships with students and establishes a high level of mutual respect in her teaching. Her students truly enjoy her and they respond well to her. When in the classroom, she established classroom expectations early and used clearly defined behavioral and academic classroom standards in her teaching. Students followed her cues well. Crystal was able to accomplish more academically with students as a result of establishing strong classroom management expectations and mutual respect. The other teachers in the school knew Crystal to be talented, flexible, and committed to excellence for her students. In both her roles as classroom teacher and school counselor, she participated in team meetings, parent conferences, all staff development opportunities, and student assessment and student placement meetings for special programs. She is very coachable and is not afraid to be a team member. She is a true professional and I have greatly appreciated her. Without hesitation, I am happy to recommend Crystal Ellis for a position in your school. She will be an excellent asset. Sincerely,
Shelly Reggiani Executive Director, Instructional Services North Clackamas School District
