It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Kelsey Berry. I was Kelsey’s
University Supervisor at Ferris State University during her Student Teaching Experience. I observed
Kelsey in a Kindergarten classroom at West Godwin Elementary School.

I observed Kelsey three times over the course of the semester and watched her grow in her
confidence and ability to connect with her students. Her lesson plans are thorough and well planned
and include strategies to meet the wide range of learners in her class. Kelsey’s lessons include
content standards, lesson objectives and her assessment plan. Kelsey utilizes best practices for her
kindergarten students that includes a variety of engagement strategies. Kelsey works with small
groups and individual students, scaffolding her instruction to meet the needs of all of her learners.

A strength of Kelsey’s is her connection with students. She maintains a calm manner and has
worked hard at creating a safe learning environment for all of her students. Kelsey has built a
classroom based on mutual trust and respect clearly communicating expectations. She is consistent
and fair when addressing student behavior and maintains their dignity at all times.

Kelsey is a hard worker and an eager learner. She has the ability to reflect on her teaching and she
constantly strives to become a more effective educator. She maintained positive relationships with
her colleagues during her student teaching, seeking to surround herself with other professionals in
order to learn.

I highly recommend Kelsey for any position and believe that she would be a valuable asset to any
