Provide Examples/Evidence of Above Kelsey's lesson was very thorough and well thought out. She began
(Domain 1): her lesson by reviewing the daily agenda and ensuring students
were ready to begin the next activity. Kelsey shared a personal
story about a time when she was young and lost a favorite stuffed
animal. She shared the emotion she felt and modeled her story that
she was going to write for her students. During independent work
time, Kelsey worked with a small group of students and frequently
walked around the classroom assessing student learning.
Provide Examples/Evidence of Above Kelsey has created a positive learning environment for her students.
(Domain 2): She refers to them as friends and recognizes students often. During
this observation, Kelsey freely provides positive feedback to
students for their work, helping each other and sharing. It was
evident that students wanted to do their best for her.
Provide Examples/Evidence of Above Kelsey uses a variety of instructional strategies to meet the varying
(Domain 3): needs of her students and to maintain a high level of engagement in
her classroom. She utilizes strategies such as turn and talk, using
hand movements to agree with another person's thought and
choosing students to share their work. Kelsey utilized independent
work time to assess student learning and work with individual
students who needed more support.
Provide Examples/Evidence of Above Kelsey follows the rules and procedures of the school and has taken
(Domain 4): over much of the professional responsibilities of the classroom
teacher.
Additional Comments: Kelsey has gained so much confidence over the past 5 weeks. She
is more comfortable with curriculum and her knowledge of her
students as learners has increased. It is a pleasure watching Kelsey
interact with her students and share her love of learning with them.
