Above (Domain 3): during this observation. She began her lesson by connecting it to a previous lesson. She spent a few minutes reviewing the book that they read yesterday. As Steph read the new book, she asked students to get out their "walkie talkie" and make a prediction, asked clarifying questions and discussed new vocabulary words. Students were engaged and excited about comparing and contrasting the two books that they read.
