Additional Comments: I loved the personal connections you made to the U.S. and
Mexico. This type of connection made the learning "real" to the
students. In addition, I think this lesson allowed some students to
make connections to this lesson with their own families. Continue
using multiple strategies to engage students while reading a text
aloud. In addition, make sure you have some sort of built in
assessment to gauge student understanding at the end of the
lesson. Overall, wonderful job planning and implementing this
social studies lesson!
