Above (Domain 2): environment in her classroom. Student misbehavior is rare but if it happens, Steph addresses it consistently and privately. She focuses on positives and freely compliments her students for making the right choice.
It is evident that students are well aware of
classroom procedures and routines and move throughout the classroom efficiently, maximizing instructional time. Students work well with partners which supports the positive culture in the classroom.

Above (Domain 3): engage her students. Partner work, turn and talk and the use of questioning were all evident during this observation. Steph asked students to support their answers during math, deepening their understanding of the mathematical concept. During partner work time, students had the option to choose whichever tool best met their learning needs.
As students worked, Steph walked around the
room, reteaching and guiding individuals as needed. She utilized this time to assess their learning.
