Participate and Assist

Field Study 1: Observations of Teaching-Learning in Actual School Environment (M.D. Lucas, PhD, et.al)
Given the concepts and the infographic, how can you participate and assist in the face-to-face
learning environment?
I can facilitate it properly and assist those students who have difficulties. I can also
provide constructive feedback on my students’ assignments, projects, presentations, and other
activities, as well as encourage critical thinking.

Notice

Having been exposed to the traditional classrooms in your basic education, it seems
that everything is familiar. However, as teaching-learning theories evolve over time there are
changes that are taking place.

Classroom Environment Before Classroom Environment Now

The classroom atmosphere is passive. The classroom is now very active.
It's always teacher-centered; all the It is learner-centered and teachers act as
information is given by the teacher and the facilitators; all the information is not only
students as a listener. given by the teachers, but the students
participate as well.
The grades are all based on the written exam. The grades are all based on the students
performance and the skills that they
demonstrate that are relevant to the lesson.
Their grades are all based on the authentic
assessment.
Acquiring new skills is very hard because the There's so much opportunity being offered
class does not focus on the student. for the students’ acquisition.

Analyze
What do you think brought the changes in the face-to-face learning environment now?
I think the ones that brought about this change are the changes in curriculum that are
more focused on developing the students’ skills and knowledge, unlike the old curriculum,
which was teacher-centered. Also, the teachers and school staff played a big role in
implementing this learner-centered curriculum that brought about new changes in the classroom
atmosphere.
From the changes that you identified, choose one that you can do. How will you do it?
I choose the learner-centered teaching environment. As a teacher, I should focus more
on my students, and I should be a facilitator to guide them in what they need to do or assist
them if there's something that my students don't understand about the lesson. As a teacher, I
will help them in their learning development and make sure that my students do better without
anyone living behind.

Reflection

Field Study 1: Observations of Teaching-Learning in Actual School Environment (M.D. Lucas, PhD, et.al)
Do you think making the learning environment conducive for face-to-face classroom will
enable the learners to achieve better learning outcomes? YES Explain your answer.
I believe that if the classroom is conducive to the learners, they can achieve the learning
outcomes better, because if the classroom environment is conducive to the learners, there is a
big chance that they will be more active in the class discussion and actively participate in the
activities, receive knowledge quickly, and acquire skills that they can apply in the activities.

I realize how important the classroom environment is. You need to make sure that
everything is okay for your students to feel comfortable and for them to be able to focus on
the class discussion, actively participate, and acquire new knowledge quickly.

Making your classroom environment conducive to your learners is a very important thing
that the teacher should do and implement for their students' development.
