The goal is to have as many healthy foods in your area as possible to win, and unhealthy foods lesson your chance of winning. "earna#le Piece: %Today we are going to play a game that re-uires you to pic out healthy foods and avoid the unhealthy foods. The goal will be to stay as healthy as possible, and the team with the healthiest foods wins.& Presentation o$ New Material/%irections: $ will e"plain the rules of the game/ 0 1"plain how they will be divided into 2 groups. 1ach group will have a hula hoop that represents their stomach. 0 The bean bags represent a healthy food, while the balls represent an unhealthy food. 0 1ach team member will go one at a time to retrieve either a healthy food or an unhealthy food from the gym floor. They will be instructed to do so by s ipping or 3ogging. 0 4ou can ta e unhealthy foods and place them in someone else5s %stomach& to slow them down. 0 $f someone puts an unhealthy food in your hula hoop you may ta e it out and put it in someone

else5s hula hoop. 0 6fter every bean bag is gone from the center of the gym, the team with the most amount of healthy foods wins '*o not count the unhealthy foods(. 0 $n order to place a food into your %stomach&, you must say an e"ample of the food 7or instance, if you had a bean bag you could say %carrot& or if you had a ball you could say %ca e&. 0 6s if there are any -uestions. Transition: $ will have everyone count off by 25s. 6fter the teams are made, $ will call each team to their hula hoop one team at a time to avoid chaos and congestion. 1veryone will wait at their hula hoop until $ say they may begin. Acti)it*: Before $ say %go&, $ will give the teams a movement '3ogging, s ipping, or speed wal ing( that they must use to get to the beanbags and bring them bac to their hula hoop. The hula hoops will be in 2 corners of the gym, while the students will be standing behind their hoops. 6fter 1veryone is at their hula hoop, $ will say %when you are ready put both hands in the air&. $ will then say %go& and students will go one at a time from each team to retrieve a bean bag. $ will encourage strategies li e having them get an unhealthy food and place it into a team5s hula hoop that is doing well. $ will also encourage them to cheer their teammates on. 1veryone can go as many times as needed, but everyone must go in order so that one person is not doing all the wor . 7inally, $ will remind the students to say a healthy or unhealthy food 'depending on the ball or beanbag( when they place it in their hoop. 8nce all of the bean bags are gone, $ will say %stop& and have each team count the amount of healthy foods they have. $ will as what team got the most and then declare them the winner because they %ate& the healthiest foods. Transition/ 8nce the game is over, $ will call each team individually bac to the green line and begin the lesson review. Possi#le Modi$ications: $f the activity is too hard, $ will change the movement to get the bean bags to something easier, li e simply wal ing. $ could also remove some of the bean bags and balls to lessen the amount of wor put into the activity. $f the activity is too easy, $ could have them increase their physical activity levels by having them run or hop to get the bean bags. $ would also ma e it so that once an unhealthy food is in your hula hoop9 every person waiting must do 3umping 3ac s until the unhealthy food is removed or until a new
