EDGE STITCHES The rst 2 sts and last 2 sts of every row are knitted in garter stitch. INCREASES 4 sts are increased on every RS row: k 2 (edge sts), yo, k to 2nd marker, yo, k 2 (center sts), yo, k to 4th marker, yo, k 2 (edge sts). EYELET PATTERN Row 1 (RS): Knit. Row 2 (WS): Knit. Row 3: K 2 edge sts, yo, k 1, yo, * k 2 tog, yo * to 2nd marker, k 2 center sts, * k 2 tog, yo * until 3 sts rem, k 1, yo, k 2. Row 4: Knit. PICOT BIND-OFF * CO 2 sts onto left needle, BO 6 sts *, rep from *-* to center. Now CO 2 sts on left needle, BO 5 sts - the picot should fall right on the tip. CO 2, BO 5 - this produces a mirror image on either side of the center picot. Then * CO 2 sts on left needle, BO 6 sts *, rep from *-* to end.

KERCHIEF Using 4.5 mm circular needle and 2 strands of MC, cast on 4 sts. Row 1: Kfb, k 1, kfb, k 1 = 6 sts.

Row 2: Knit. Row 3 (RS): K 2, pm, yo, pm, k 2, pm, yo, pm, k 2 = 8 sts. Row 4 (WS): K to end of row. Continue in stockinette st, increasing 4 sts per row as established until 144 sts total (2 edge sts + 69 + 2 center sts + 69 + 2 edge sts) or until desired length, ending with a purl row. Cut MC and join CC1. Knit EYELET PATTERN. Cut CC1 and join 3 strands of CC2. Knit 3 inches (or 8" ridges), ending with a WS row. Cut CC2 and join CC1. Knit EYELET PATTERN.
