Portable Food (Water) Contamination Monitor for Gross Gamma Radioactivity Measurement

The instrument is required to measure gross gamma radioactivity in water samples. It should be simple in operation and Light Weight, Compact & Portable. The instrument shall comprise of the following:

Detector Unit: Detector: NaI (TI) Crystal Scintillator Crystal Size: 50mm X 50mm +/- 2 mm Probe with built in threshold amplifier & high voltage generator Gamma Radiation Energy: 80 2000 keV or better Protection Unit: Marinelly Plastic beaker (0.5 Liters) Lead Shielding with nominal thickness 30mm Tripod/ stand to support the above

Measuring Unit: Measuring unit: Becquerel/Liter (Bq/L) Range: 1 9999 Bq/L or better Display: LCD Measuring activity: Gamma Shall show the statistical error Automatic Status or Error message display (Self test, Detector failure, Battery change, Display outside measuring range) Operating Temp range: 10C to 500C Printer/Computer connection through USB port

Calibration: Using reference sample 137Cs source. Calibration factor: Preset inside the instrument, adjustable, Manufacturers setting for 137Cs Power supply: Main 230 V AC and Built in Dry Batteries/Rechargeable batteries (operation time after recharging: 48 hours)

Packing: The instrument shall be dismantle-able in two parts & Packed in two Light weight Plastic Molded Polyethylene (LLDPE/Equivalent) boxes with internal foam/wood. The boxes shall also have mule hooks, handles etc.

The complete set shall comprise of Gamma measurement probe, protection unit, processing unit, AC Adapter or rechargeable battery, LCD Display on Processing unit, reference 137Cs gamma radiation source, Measuring vessels, Manuals & Users guide.
