Raising the political heat as the tempo for the Lok Sabha is building up, Assam chief minister, Tarun Gogoi questions as to why statue of India's first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel be built in Gujarat and not elsewhere in the country.

Refusing to support the move for erection of statue near the Sardar Sarovar dam on the Narmada River, Gogoi teased Narendra Modi, BJP's prime ministerial candidate and said that he will resign from chief minister ship of Assam if the party secures less seats than 2009 Lok Sabha polls. Assam has 14 Lok Sabha seats, congress secured seven seats in last elections.

Gogoi said a high level delegation from Government of Gujarat led by Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment & Youth Culture, Ramanlal Vora met me and sought my support for the Vallabhbhai patel's statue. "BJP is now trying to project Sardar patel as their leader with election round the corner. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) killed Mahatma Gandhi and everybody knows who is behind selection of Modi as the prime ministerial candidate in BJP. Why Modi remembers Sardar Patel now as he has been Gujarat chief minister for last 10 years.". He said that he has asked the Gujarat ministerial delegation as why they are trying to project Sadar patel as Gujarat's leader whereas he is a national leader. "Why a statue cannot come up in somewhere else or in Mizoram or any other place. I refused to give any kind of support for the move. Why BJP is remembering Patel now." This Lok Sabha election is crucial for Gogoi as this according to him may be the last the Lok Sabha polls for his political carrier. The 2014 parliamentary polls will also see the debut of Gogoi's son Gaurav. Gogoi under whose stewardship the grand old party has not lost any elections in last 12 years said, "I am confident; we will win more than the existing seven seats. I will resign if we win less than seven seats."

Who stopped u from doing so? U can't think more than what u do daily.. i.e praying infront of Sonai.
