PART 1 - GENERAL 1.01 A. Maintenance Requirements The Contractor shall provide continuous maintenance to the permanent works and the support facilities during the construction period until the works are completed and handed over to Saudi Aramco. The Contractor shall prepare and submit to Saudi Aramco Representative, prior to starting road construction, a maintenance program covering equipment requirements, pavement repairs, removal of sand deposition, subgrade repair, embankment repairs and other relative activities. The Contractor shall create forms for the various maintenance activities, keep up-to-date record and prepare a monthly summary for the road maintenance activities. During the period of the Contract, anticipated maintenance activities include: reinstatement, subgrade repair, embankment repair, sand removal, etc. Embankment Repair: This is usually associated with failure of side slopes due to wind erosion, scour from flowing water, slip or breaking away outer edge of the shoulder. Work required involves removal and reinstatement of part of the road.

Sand Removal: Remove wind blown sand deposited on the road. Equipment list. Preservation and Storage Related Sections Section 01400 - Quality Control. Section 01700 - Close-Out Requirements. Quality Assurance Prepare instructions and data by personnel experienced in maintenance and operation of described products. Format The Contractor shall create forms for various maintenance activities, keep up-todate record and prepare a monthly summary for the road maintenance activities. Submittals Prior to starting road construction, the Contractor shall prepare and submit to Saudi Aramco Representative maintenance program covering equipment requirements, pavement repairs, sand removal, subgrade repairs, embankment repairs and other related activities such as cleaning of drainage crossings, replacement of signs post/faces, suppression of dust. Prepare and submit equipment list to Saudi Aramco within sixty (60) days after approval of the preliminary equipment list.

DESCRIPTION

Preservation and Storage Installed equipment and structures shall be protected from degradation due to the environment by using appropriate lubricants and preservatives. Stored equipment will be secured to prevent movement and damage. It also shall be stored off the ground to protect equipment and packaging from humidity and contamination using desiccant and other means. Procurement and Delivery of Special Tools and Test Equipment All required special tools and test equipment, if any, shall be purchased by Contractor with the equipment for which the items are required. Master Equipment List Tags The Contractor shall provide tags for each master equipment list item provided by the Contractor. Tags shall be approximately 76 x 25 mm (LW) and made of materials suitable to withstand the environment where they are located and remain legible. The tag shall be attached to the equipment in a conspicuous place, where it will not interfere with the operation or maintenance of the equipment, using a method to securely attach it to equipment, that is compatible with the equipment design. The master equipment list will be transferred by the Contractor to the replacement items when the item is to be removed from its position/location. Item location change shall be reported in writing to Saudi Aramco.
