THE FACTS
●Parkwise is a partnership between the Start Page 31 and go

●Latest figures show £7.77 is being lost
on each issued penalty charge notice
(PCN) issued by Parkwise. The average
cost per PCN is £36.75 compared to an
income of £28.88. The worst area was
South Ribble where £40.59 was lost on a
ticket and £31.87 lost in Chorley.
●From April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008,
only 73% of PCNs were paid out of the

111,608 generated. Of those, 16%
(18,092) were cancelled for reasons
including secretarial errors (1,401), policy
errors (8,135) and mitigating
circumstances (6,080). A total of 5% of
PCNs are outstanding (4,987), 5% are with
bailiffs (4,987) and 1% (1,163) were
written off.
