Issue 03 (2007-05-09)
There is a one-to-one relationship between the clock source and the priority.
The priority of a BITS clock is usually higher than that of a line clock.
If the system clock uses a line clock, the GMPS must have been configured with the
corresponding line clock.
Automatic: The system automatically selects the clock source that has the highest
priority.
For example, if the level 3 clock source fails, the level 4 clock source is used. When the
level 3 clock source recovers, the system automatically switches to the level 3 clock
source. If all the clock sources fail, the system retains the current state and switches to
Automatic mode after the clock sources recover.
Manual: The user specifies a clock source. The system is not allowed to switch the clock
resource even if the current clock source fails.

z
When the BSC6000 internal network is normal, you need to synchronize data if the data
does not take effect after you add a board. For details, refer to section 7.8 "Checking Data
Consistency and Synchronizing Data."
When the BSC6000 internal network is disrupted or the Ethernet cable is not installed, you
need to check data consistency if the network restores after you delete a board and then
add a board. If the data is inconsistent, you have to reset the board.
This topic describes how to add a board in the GMPS.

In the cells in which there is no frequency hopping, each TRX is assigned with one frequency. For the
description of frequency assignment in frequency hopping cells, refer to section 6.5 "Adding TRXs."
The frequencies in the following frequency hopping cells cannot be modified in the Configure TRX
Attributes dialog box as shown in Figure 6-12:
3.
There are more than two frequency hopping groups if the primary BCCH frequencies are involved in
the baseband frequency hopping.
There is more than one frequency hopping group if the primary BCCH frequencies are not involved
in the baseband frequency hopping.
There is more than one frequency hopping group during radio frequencies.
Select 18 from the Available Frequency box and add it to the Assigned Frequency box,
and then click OK.
Frequency 18 is assigned to TRX 9.
Repeat substeps 2 and 3 to assign frequencies to TRX10 and TRX11, as shown in Figure 6-13.
The number of TRXs in the cell is between 1 and 24. The first chosen TRX is the primary BCCH
TRX.
In Figure 6-13, the yellow TRX 9 in the Assigned TRXs list box indicates that the primary BCCH
TRX is TRX 9. The red frequencies 18, 19, and 21, among which frequency 18 is assigned to TRX
9, indicate that they are used by the TRXs.

6.2.3 Verification
If the addition is successful, Cell2 is displayed on the Management Tree tab page and the
relations of the cell, BTS, and TRXs are correct.
When you click the cell, further information is correctly displayed on the right panel.
By default, the Abis timeslots are automatically assigned by the system. If you want to
manually assign the Abis timeslots, refer to section
5.11 "Assigning Abis Timeslots Manually."
For combined cabinet groups, establishing the internal connections between the groups is
required. If the internal connections between the groups are not established, the timeslots
may not be successfully assigned. For the detailed information, refer to section
5.7 "Establishing Connections Between BTS Cabinet Groups."
Issue 03 (2007-05-09)
6-13
Adding a cell also involves adding TRXs. Only one BTS can be added to one BIE port
through one dynamic configuration. If you distribute the added TRXs over multiple BIE
ports, you need to add site chains for the BTS if timeslot distribution fails.
If the added cell has adjacent cells, configure the adjacent cells after the addition. For
detailed information, refer to section 6.4 "Configuring Adjacent Cells."

Issue 03 (2007-05-09)
When you configure baseband FH for the cells controlled by the BTS30, BTS312, BTS3002C,
BTS3006A, BTS3012A, or BTS3001C, the TRXs configured with the frequencies in the same FH group
must be in the same cabinet group. For the FH group of a channel on a TRX, the cabinet group where
the TRX is located must be the same as the cabinet group where the TRXs configured with the
frequencies in the FH group are located.
When you configure baseband FH for the cells controlled by BTS3012, BTS3012AE, or BTS3006C, the
TRXs configured with the frequencies in the same FH group must be in the same cabinet group. For the
FH group of a channel on a TRX, the cabinet group where the TRX is located must be the same as the
cabinet group where the TRXs configured with the frequencies in the FH group are located.
The system automatically generates the corresponding frequency hopping groups and the frequency
hopping offset to support cell baseband frequency hopping or radio frequency hopping.
1.
For the configuration of cell baseband frequency hopping, there are two cases: BCCH frequencies
not involved in frequency hopping and BCCH frequencies involved in frequency hopping. For the
first case, refer to substeps 4 through 6. For the second case, refer to substeps 7 through 8.
For the configuration of radio frequency hopping, refer to substeps 9 through 11.
The system automatically searches the TRXs in the cell. All the TRXs are listed in the TRX list box. In
None FH mode, whether to perform frequency hopping cannot be configured. In None FH mode, the
frequency hopping group and the frequency hopping offset cannot be configured.
The descriptions of the buttons and options in the Set FH Attributes dialog box are as
follows:

Issue 03 (2007-05-09)
FH group 0 contains frequency 18 of TRX 9 where the BCCH resides, as shown in Figure 6-31. FH
group 1 does not contain frequency 28, as shown inFigure 6-32. Therefore, timeslot 0 of the BCCH uses
FH group 1, as shown in Figure 6-30. Other timeslots can use FH group 1 or group 0, as shown in Figure
6-30.
The FH attributes configuration is complete with the BCCH frequencies involved in the baseband FH,
go to substep 12.
9.
The FH mode cannot be changed directly. For example, if you want to switch Baseband FH to RF
FH, first switch the FH mode to None FH, and then to RF FH.
