Strengths-Based Approach. We believe that when a persons strengths, assets and resources are balanced with their faults and failures, then a more accurate view of the person is realizeda view that is truly helpful to all who are concerned with attaining a healthy life. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (or ACT) is a new, third-wave evidence-based cognitive behavioural intervention therapy. In a nutshell, ACT teaches us to accept the things we cannot change, have the courage to change the things we can and the wisdom to know the difference. ACT involves learning a number of mindfulness skills in order to deal with thoughts and emotions more effectively. There is also a strong emphasis on connecting with ones inner values and seeing these values realised in ones everyday life through daily actions. Put simply, ACT is an extremely powerful approach in helping people to live the life that they truly want rather than the life that their thoughts and emotions would dictate. Motivational Interviewing is a directive, client-centred counselling approach for eliciting behaviour changes by helping clients explore and resolve ambivalences. Mindfulness is described by the Chief Executive of the Mental Health Foundation in their report of 2010 as a 'potentially life-changing approach.'

iLILO Therapeutic Framework - A unique model for therapy, mentoring and coaching The aim of ACT is to help clients create a full and meaningful life, cultivating well-being through mindfulness and values-guided actions. ACT is increasingly seen as a part of the Strengths-Based movement and arguably has more scope and depth than any other model within the field. The blend of Strengths-Based approach and Motivational Interviewing combined with ACT Therapy Coaching will help people find a new way out of their anxiety, stress and worry by developing self-managed strategies to create well-being, confidence and success in their personal and professional life. Coaching: We believe that coaching is about building a trusting relationship, where the coach works with the coachee to build an accountability partnership. The result is a

relationship that will help the coachee to achieve the paramount objective of increased, improved and timely performance. Mentoring: We believe that mentoring is about building a trusting relationship promoting the sharing of personal experience and the transmission of knowledge and insight. The result is a relationship that creates a safe developmental learning environment. Term 2: Session 21 to 40 Term 3: Session 41 to 60 Term 4: Session 61 to 80 The SPACE Whole Life Coaching (WLC) program offers youths a platform to learn about constructive ways for addressing personal, social and community challenges. The program consists of theme-based lessons that cultivate mindfulness and its application to social, emotional and leadership skills development. The SPACE WLC provides its members with tools to strengthen their well-being, think critically and act with thoughtfulness and compassion. At the heart of our curriculum are basic iLILO Therapeutic Framework practices that help young people access the wisdom within themselves and within the group. Participants are encouraged to speak from the heart, ask questions to discover their fullest potential, and explore possibilities that lead to a culture of mutual respect, and ethical concern for each other. Rather than teach values explicitly, the program immerses students in a group process based on iLILO Therapeutic Framework. Through it, they develop values and build practical skills that help them acknowledge and manage emotions, nurture healthy relationships, appreciate diverse perspectives, and demonstrate caring and concern for others. One of the primary goals of the SPACE WLC is to encourage youths to see themselves as vital contributors to personal and social change. Hence, we also engage members in servicelearning projects aimed at improving some aspect of their community. We urge them to view

the world as a global community in which they can take initiative and be responsible, in some small way, for the state of their world. Each youth is to each develop and implement their own volunteer project, putting into action the skills, values and beliefs they have developed in the program. Social and emotional competencies are skill sets that can be cultivated to help individuals prepare for personal and professional success. The mastery of these essential skills enhance health and wellness, strong ethical character and ethical development, caring and respectful interaction and prepares individuals to develop a sense of personal responsibility towards the larger community. By strengthening their social and emotional skills, individuals can become effective communicators, collaborators and leaders that shape a safe, just and sustainable community. SPACE WLC educational content integrates the body of research and key findings of CASEL, the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning, a not-for-profit organization that works to promote childrens success in schools and in life, and to support the healthy development of all children.
