1. In what specific ways can you contribute to the attainment of the DepED mandate in the

following areas?

Formal Basic Education:

I can contribute to the attainment of the DepEd mandate in formal basic education by abiding

the set of rules and guidelines standardized by DepEd. In addition, as an educator, the learners

will by my topmost priority, catering their basic needs and let them realize that education is a

right of every Filipino.

Alternative Learning System:

I can contribute to the attainment of the DepED mandate in the area of alternative learning

system by primarily acquiring set of knowledge about ALS, understanding how the system

works, and eventually promote that aside from formal basic education, Filipinos, specifically

those who are challenged and with special needs can also study, learn and grow.

2. What can you do as a beginning teacher?

Promote quality education?

Quality education starts with myself. As a beginning teacher, I will apply and share all the

knowledge, skills, and experiences I developed in order for my students to be engaged,

encouraged and motivated on studying. Also, having mastery skills on a specific subject matter

will help make education better. Lastly, I will build a strong connection with my students for

them to learn and appreciate what life they will have if they have mindsets on acquiring the best

education they can have.

Make education accessible for all?

Education is free, however, the society had already set standards on how each individual

acquires one. To make education accessible for all, I need to know and understand the situation

of the students. With that, I am able to make adjustments and find alternatives on how my

teaching will go. Also, I will make my students realize that there is nothing impossible.

As a teacher, how do you encourage your students:

To discover their full potential that may contribute for the betterment of the society?

First, I will make a connection with my students. With this, they will be comfortable sharing

their knowledge and skills to the class. In addition, I will provide a set of activities with different

objectives in order for their potentials to come out. Once they are able to showcase their

potentials, it is time to nurture and support them. Let them know that their actions will have

impact on the society.

To apply the competencies prescribed in the curriculum?

I will explain the set of standardized competencies to my students. After, I will ask for their

comments and suggestions on how they want their learning environment to be. I believe that

learning competencies can be achieved in a way that everyone follows rules by DepEd and at the

same time have student-friendly environment.

To reflect and evaluate their home- and culture-based value?

To reflect and evaluate their home- and culture-based value?

I let my students engage their selves on different set of activities. With this, they will be able to

show who they are and how they perform. I believe that knowing their characters and attitudes

will help me understand on what type of students they are. I will make them realize that good

attitude is far way more important than anything.

Which among your specific roles/functions as a teacher can signify your responsibility among

your students and people in the community?

Being an educator means that I am also an influencer. I should be a good role model for my

students since this will be reflected on how they will interact with other people in and out of the

community.

What plans do you have as a teacher to achieve the learner-centered philosophy?

Seek for students’ bright and unique ideas.

Be open and positive with the students’ suggestions and opinions.

Make the lesson easier for the students to understand.

Reach out students that have hard time to grasp the lessons.

Be a keen observer. Not all students can express themselves. Just talk to them privately and let

the atmosphere be light and make them feel at ease.

How can you foster partnership and extend linkages to your stakeholders?

By improving myself as a role model for a Filipino educator. I need to attend seminar that can

hone me into a better professional. I need to modify myself with the evolving 21st century

learners.

What can you contribute to ensure a child-friendly, gender-sensitive, safe and motivating

environment?

I will make my students realize how important respect is. Having respect is the key for a happy

environment. I will engage them in different activities to boost their core values and to know

their strengths and weaknesses. Let them understand that all students are unique on their own

ways.

How do you address the uniqueness of each learner?

I let my students realize that being unique is one of their strengths. In some aspects, their

uniqueness will make them shine in every possible way. Also, being unique means you possess

your own originality and that makes who you are.

How do you ensure an enabling and supportive environment for effective learning to happen?

I give performance tasks suitable for all learners. I ensure that no students are left behind, giving

them equal opportunities to showcase their knowledge and abilities. Evaluation of the task

comes afterwards.

What are some ways to develop lifelong-learners?

Developing lifelong-learners starts with the learners themselves. They should have set their

goals on what they want to be. And as an educator, I will help them achieve their goals in life. I

will do my best to share what I have to make students’ goals come into reality.

5. MY PHILOSOHY IN TEACHING

I believe that every process involves giving and taking. As an educator, I impart my knowledge

to the students on the best way I know and can. As a result, they are able to gain something

important, give their feedbacks, and share them with other people. Aside from the technical

aspect, I also believe that there is more to life than studying. Teaching not just happens inside

the school, it happens everywhere. Lastly, I believe that learning not just stays in students’ mind,

but also in their hearts.

my vision are that work with a heart. You teach them not because it’s your work, you teach them

because you want to. You want to help them to be successful, though the credits will not be

yours, at least you take a responsibility for their learnings.

REFLECTION:
The impact of the Department Mandate, VMV, and Strategic Directions in my vocation as a
teacher is that it serves as a guide for me. A wake up call in particular, meaning it alarms me of
the things I need to consider. It makes me think of a proper application to be done to the learners
so that the understanding about it can absolutely clear out.
