1. In what specific ways can you contribute to the attainment of the DepEd mandate in the
following areas?
Implementation policies, plans, programs and projects in:
Formal Basic Education:
The DepEd mandate in Formal Education is being implemented by providing the learners
with the substantial delivery of the lessons. Policies, plans, programs, and projects are well-
monitored through setting goals and objectives which are aligned with the DepEd Mission and
Vision. This to make sure that the objectives of Formal Education will be achieved.

Alternative Learning System:


Quality Education should be accessible to all not only in Formal Education but also in
Alternative Learning System. An educator like me should render the best I can because it also
a mission to me to provide a conducive environment for my learners especially for ALS which
does not compromise substantial instructional delivery. To attain the objective of ALS, I make
sure to use strategic direction of DepEd as my guide to facilitate my learners to achieve the
best quality of education.

2. What can you do as a beginning teacher to:


Promote quality education?
As a beginning teacher, I should familiarize myself with the Department of Education. It is a
must for me to out in mind and heart the mandate, mission, vision, core values and the
strategic direction of DepEd. This is to ensure that I am promoting quality education as the
department wants me to. I should do my best that I could in preparing and delivering
substantial lessons.

Make education accessible to all?


Education is for all and it must be accessible to all and not looking unto how old and young are
you. I will make this profession as my passion so that I can serve people with all my heart. I will
make myself always at reach by everyone who needs to be educated. I can render some of my
spare time to the Out of school Youths (OSY) to let them experience as well the teaching and
learning process. To ensure the goal of quality education, I am willing to extend my service
especially to the least learners.

As a teacher, how do you encourage your students:
To discover their full potential that may contribute for the betterment of the society?
A learner should know how to appreciate first the process of learning and the positive
contribution in order to discover their full potentials.

To apply the competencies prescribed in the curriculum?


It is important that the competencies in the curriculum should be applied so I will make sure
that they themselves understand what the competencies are and why these are needed. Upon
doing so, they have to put in heart and mind that these must be met and applied not just inside
the classroom but also outside. I will be providing them well-planned instructional delivery
which does not solely give them information but also life-long learning skills to be applied in
their daily lives.

To reflect and evaluate their home and culture-based values?


I believe home and culture-based values are essential in education, so I let my learners
evaluate the home and cultural values of other countries through the use of audio-visual
materials. I let them see the differences of each country have. After that, they will reflect on
the foundation of home and cultural values of themselves to its relation to their own.

Which among your specific roles/functions as a teacher can signify your responsibility among
your students and people in the community?
As an educator, it is my duty to promote quality education and make it accessible to everyone.
The aforementioned signifies the responsibility among the students and people in the
community for these are the end-all of teaching. Delivering substantial instruction to all kinds
of learners and extending my service to everyone are indeed my vital functions.

What plans do you have as a teacher to achieve the learner-centered philosophy?


As part of my duty as an educator, I want to achieve the learner-centered philosophy,
therefore I have to make my students the heart of my teaching and learning process. I will
make sure that my classroom discussion is suitable to all my learners by being aware of their
needs, differences, goals, wants and aspirations in life.
What can you do to better serve the learners in relation to learner-centered philosophy?
To serve the learners better in relation to learner-centered philosophy, I should know my
students deeply. I have to equip them with skills and knowledge in accordance with their needs
and wants.

How can you foster partnership and extend linkages to your stakeholders?
To foster partnership and extend linkages to my stakeholders, I will be including them in the
preparation of my classroom goals and objectives. Involving them in the activities can help
them contribute to the holistic development of the learners.

4. Students learn in a child-friendly, gender-sensitive, safe, and motivating environment.

What can you contribute to ensure a child-friendly, gender-sensitive, safe and motivating
environment?
To ensure a child-friendly, gender-sensitive, safe and motivating environment, I can create a
learning environment, I can create a learning environment which is conducive and inclusive.
I have to make sure that it is accommodating to the needs to the needs of the different kinds of
learners I will be teaching.

How do you address the uniqueness of each learner?


To address the uniqueness of each learner, I have to adhere to Howard Gardner’s Multiple
Intelligences Theory which proves that all students are different from one another. I can also
address this by giving differentiated tasks which encompass the needs of every learner that I
have.
How do you ensure an enabling and supportive environment for effective learning to happen?
To ensure an enabling and supportive environment for effective learning to happen, I will
make my students feel that they are in the learning environment where they can always be
motivated to study and learn. I will also extend my service even outside the classroom to
ensure the best result learning.

What are some ways to develop life-long learners?


To develop lifelong learners, we have to make sure that the various instructional deliveries
provided to them are well-planned. They are to be given differentiated tasks wherein they can
use the competencies needed for real-life situations. We do not teach our learners to learn
only but how to learn, too.

5. My Philosophy in Teaching
Every learner is entitled of quality education regardless of their status in life. I want them to
learn also for this is the reason why I want to promote quality education and make it
accessible to everyone.

6. Vision Sharing
How do you see your learners 10 years from now?
I can see my learners 10 years from now successful and has attained their goals in life. Maybe
few were hard up in meeting their goals in life but they were able to use their own strategies to
survive and overcome all challenges in life. By their faith in God, they were able to live a
happy life with their family and love ones.

7. What strategies do you intend to apply a learner-centered philosophy to ensure the attainment
of your vision?
I intend to apply a learner-centered philosophy by making my classroom a child-friendly
environment. I let them participate in all activities and bring out their talents. I will let them
exercise their freedom in the classroom and develop respect and trust to one another. I want
them also to be open in everything about themselves and their family problems so that I may
know how can I help them. I want them to be equally treated and make our relationship as a
family. I want to let them see themselves a successful one in the future so I will motivate them
to perform at their best in school and apply their learning in their daily lives.

This reminds me to make the learners the core of teaching-learning process. It has
helped me to be spurred in knowing each and everyone of them know their needs and
throughout their everyday life.
