Requirements: Yarn: Any sturdy cord, thread, string, or rope. One ball of crochet cotton thread works nicely. I used a slightly larger/thicker thread for my I-Cord (hemp is ideal). Needles: Size 10s, Size 13s (for casting on/off), Size 2 DPNs (for I-cord frame and handles) one large eye yarn needle, scissors. Gauge: doesnt matter Abbreviations: k1b = Knit one through the back loop s1p = Slip one as if to purl . Directions: Using size 13s, (long tail) cast on 80 stitches. Switch to size 10 needles. Every row: K1b, *o, k2tog*, end s1p. Repeat until nearly out of yarn. Using size 13s again, cast off Loosely. With study (hemp) string and size 2 needles, provisionally cast on 3, work I cord until frame of bag is made (mine was approx. 30 inches) - weave icord through all four sides of the bag, marking the corners with waste yarn. Graft I cord. With study (hemp) string and size 2 needles, provisionally cast on 3, work I cord until about 10" handles are made, make two. Weave 1 icord through cast on side of the bag, from Marker to marker, following the same path as the frame. Graft I cord. Do the same on the cast off side. Enjoy. This sucker is only limited by the weight you can lift.
