Size: One size fits most


Yarn: 50 g DK, 184 yards. Model made using cashmere.
Materials: Size 8 and 9, 16” circular needles, stitch markers
Gauge: 10 stitches x 16 rows = 2” worked in pattern
Terms: K2T: Knit two together, insert needle knit wise into
two stitches and work as one to create a decrease.
YO: Yarn over

This cowl is worked in the Feather and Fan lace pattern.


Using smaller needles, cast on 90 stitches. Make sure stitches are not twisted on the needle and
join the row, placing a marker at the beginning. As you knit the first row of the four row
pattern, place a marker for each pattern repeat, 18 stitches.

Row 1: (right side) Knit.


Row 2: Knit.
Row 3, pattern row: * (K 2 tog) 3 times, (YO, K 1) 6 times, (K 2 tog) 3 times, repeat from *.
Row 4: Purl

Work until piece measures 9”. Switch to larger needles and cast off loosely. Weave in ends and
block, gently stretching cowl lengthwise instead of side to side to accentuate texture.
