This week in 4-D!

This week will be a short week. Students will be having a math quiz on Wednesday on Chapter 5.1-5.6. We will be reviewing in class until then.

Day 1 PE

This week we are continuing the unit about big numbers, estimation, and computation. The students are learning how to solve extended multiplication facts and multiplication facts with big numbers. They will also work on estimating sums and products and they will learn how to use the partial products and the lattice method.

We have been working on and are continuing to use the Daily 5 within our classrooms. This quarter the students will be using the writing process to create personal essays. Students must be done a good draft of their essays by Wednesday next week.

This quarter in science we will be learning about electricity and magnetism. This week we will be focusing on creating parallel and series circuits in our Science Lab. The students will have to name the different parts of the circuits and need to be able to explain the difference between the two circuits.

We completed working on our Government Unit in the computer lab. The students created a Go Animate video to convince people to vote for them as governor of a state of their choice. In class, we will be reviewing the 3 branches of government and students will have a small quiz on this next week.
