Primary Function Of Respiratory System


The respiratory system provides the blood with oxygen and the blood deliver the oxygen to all the tissues and organs. The second function of respiratory system is removing of the carbon dioxide from the body.

Respiratory System Structure


Nasal Cavity and Oral Cavity which are the way to the intern respiratory system. Pharynx Larynx Trachea which is the main tube connecting nose or mouth with the lungs Epiglottis: helps the air to maintain the way to the lungs so it wont pass in the digestive system Lungs are the main organ of the respiratory system

The Lungs Are Formed By:

Bronchi: Two tubes inside of the lungs. Bronchioles: Divisions of the bronchi. Alveoli: Tiny air sacs that do the oxidation and the exhale of carbon dioxide. Capillaries: Blood vessels from the walls of the alveoli.

About half a liter of water per day is lost through breathing. We breathe 13 kilo of air per day , which is more than you eat. Yawing brings more oxygen to the lungs. The right lung is larger than the left one. Young people , untill the age of 30 take in double the amound of oxygen compared to someone whos 80 years old.

Smoking. Second-Hand smoking (being around a smoker). Inhaling other chemicals gases or being around dusty or thick polluted.
Exercise Eat healthy Go to the doctor checkups annually.
