Time Introduction

A Clock is an instrument used to read time. A clock's face has 12 numbers 1 to 12. These numbers represent hours, minutes and seconds(If the clock has seconds hand).It has two hands - Long hand and short hand. The long hand is called Minute hand (It shows minutes) and short hand is called Hour hand (It shows Hours).

24 hours makes one day. Hours are divided into minutes and minutes are divided into seconds.

1 Hour 1Minute 1 Day

= 60 Minutes = 60 Seconds = 24 Hours

Counting by fives can help you to tell the time. When the minute hand moves from one number to the next, 5 mintes have passed.

How to read the time from a clock?

Time Introduction

If the longer hand is at 12 and shorter hand is at 3, then the time is 3 O' Clock. It can also be written as 3:00

Shorter hand that is hour hand is at 3

If the longer hand is at 6 and shorter hand is between 3 and 4 then the time is half past three. It is written as 3:30. Half an hour is equal to 30 minutes
